Hi Everyone,A friend made the great suggestion that I create a blog to keep everyone updated as to Cindy's progress. As of this morning, she continues to do remarkably well. She's awake and alert and recognizes everyone. Everything moves as it should and she's beginning to remember things that she hadn't before. For the most part, though, her short-term memory is shot for the moment. Yesterday she expressed some irritation with the whole ordeal...that is, she said she was sick of all this and that she's getting tired of it all. It seemed to me that this was a good sign and the nurse agreed that it was. I don't think she remembers it today, though. She's also getting very irritated with me when I have to restrain her hand when she tries to mess with the shunt in her head or the catheter in her neck. That's the big problem right now...keeping her from messing with all that stuff, so they keep her restrained except when she eats. She's feeding herself, though, and is eating everything they give her. She's also being uniquely "Cindy" which is most encouraging. I'll try to post updates regularly but be patient if I don't (for obvious reasons). Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Hey Steve and Cindy,
What a great picture of Cindy.. I have asked people here at work to put Cindy on their prayer circle at their respective churches..Can never have too many prayers. I will forward this info on to Joe, Shirley and Betty Ann. Anyone else that I can call for you and give this info to? Shoot me an email and I will be happy to do it. Like I said last night Steve, if you guys need anything please let us do it for you..Please let Cindy know that I am thinking of her constantly since I heard the news and am sending positive energy and prayers her way..Love to you both and your families.
Sandie
I hope it won't be too long until Cindy can make her own entries in the blog!

Even better picture with the additon of Brad. Sincere thanks to you Brad for doing the right things at the right moment.
Happy to hear Cindy is being Cindy. I take this to be a good sign.

Steve,
Chris called us and told us the news of Cindy. Our home telephone had been out for awhile after a storm, so I guess we were unaccessible. We were both distressed and anxious to get more news. Thank you for the blog site, we're thinking of you both every day.
I don't know how much of the boat experience Cindy will retain, hopefully some of the laughs, and not the times when we had to push the boat out of the sand or endured inappropriate jokes read by B. We'll just have to make new memories. Would love to see you both, and will keep in touch.
Love, Carolyn and Roger
