Cindy in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico
Hello everyone,
Cindy remains stable with little change. She's still confused, but nonetheless rambles on pretty coherently although with little relation to reality (she thinks we're still in Oklahoma). She's continues to have headaches and persists in trying to mess with all the stuff that's stuck into her that she shouldn't be messing with. She gets very "crafty", as Ernie (her brother-in-law) puts it, and tries to distract me so she can scratch at the drain in her head or the catheter in her neck ("Look at that girl down the hall", for instance). I get a little put out with some of the nurses in the ICU since they undo her restraints so she can eat, then leave the room and don't monitor her.
When I was there before my class tonight, the results of her Trans-Cranial Doppler had not come back yet so we don't know if the vasospasms have begun. There are signs that the nurses can detect once the spasms have reached a certain intensity but those signs haven't appeared thus far, so that's good. Between me, her parents, her sister and brother-in-law, and Brad, someone is with her most of the time, although she sleeps much of the day. When she's awake, though, she just chat's away constantly (the nurses think she's really cute). She can be incredibly amusing at times, particularly when she's being uniquely "Cindy".
Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers,
